My participation in the #IAEducativaDay in Valencia

Participating in the #IAEducativaDay Congress has undoubtedly been one of the most meaningful moments of this academic year. Not only because of the high level of the event or the shared enthusiasm, but because it was a gathering that clearly reflected the direction we need to take in education: with strategy, with purpose… and with community.

As an EdTech consultant and trainer, I had the honor of sharing my insights on how to integrate AI into a school’s digital strategy through a talk structured around the metaphor of a compass. Because in the era of AI, we need a clear direction, shared leadership, and a well-prepared team to avoid losing our way.

From that perspective, I addressed key topics such as:

  • The role of the School Digital Plan as a strategic compass that must be updated in response to the emergence of AI.

  • The importance of school leadership driving this change with vision, supported by external experts.

  • The urgent need to ask ourselves whether our schools are truly ready to integrate AI: training, ethics, legislation, and data protection are non-negotiable cornerstones.

But beyond my own session, #IAEducativaDay offered so much more.

I was finally able to meet inspiring professionals in person like Javier Prada, Xavier Ferrer i Serra, Jose Manuel Guerrero, Marcial Terradez, and Salvador Montaner. I also had the chance to engage in spontaneous conversations, share ideas, and take part in valuable networking with collaborators and sponsors such as David A. Lareo and Jorge Freire Serrano from Éutika, Ignacio Aso from Ignite Serious Play, Juan David Rodríguez García from INTEF, Paula Bañuelos Herrán, and Jon Santos from Testualia.

We were also privileged to hear from internationally recognized leaders like Antonio González Grez Grezan, Rafael Martínez Campoblanco, Dr. Jessica Meza-Jaque, and Alfonso Algora, voices that truly enrich the global conversation on AI and education.

What’s next?

This event reaffirms something I constantly repeat: it’s not just about using AI in the classroom, but about integrating AI into the school’s digital strategy with a pedagogical lens and institutional responsibility.

We’re at a crucial moment. AI is not a trend, it’s a reality that demands training, reflection, and leadership.

Thank you to the IAEducativa team for making it all possible. And thank you to every teacher who attended from different parts of the world and continues to question, learn, and share.
